Candle Holders – Keeping Fire Under Control
Fire has been in everyones lives for hundreds of years now. Although, often today it is seen as a destructive force. In years past fire was the only source of light and was lit all through the night, kept predators away and cooked the food. These days though candles are as close as many people get to this fierce fire and candle holders are the fire pits of today, a tiny relative of a great force.
Fire in the home can be dangerous, it can wreck your home and take lives if it is not looked after and used with great care. The result of this great danger was the invention of electronic candles, these work on safe battery power and give off a lovely soft glow.
The downside with these devices though is that they have removed that great power of fire, the whole reason behind that fire has gone. Candles are there to remind us of the fire from the real, primal world of yesteryear. This rawness cannot be captured in a small battery powered candle.
It is however important to use something that can contain the flame from a candle safely. Stay clear of awkward and complex designed pieces, you could run the risk of dripping wax or flames touching other items around it. A candle holder that covers the entire candle and flame is the best option. If you go down the route of using a holder that doesn’t cover the whole candle, like hurricane candle holders, then you need to make sure that the base is heavy and has a good solid footing.
Candle holders are special because of their symbolic image, they are designed the contain the fierce flames. Fire can burn, it can destroy and spreads until there is nothing left. A candle holder is designed to control this beast and give it enough room to breathe just so that it keeps going in a controlled state.
