Pendant Lights – Attractive Decor
Pendant lights are among the most attractive and even elegant ceiling light schemes available to homeowners and businesses alike. They are far more versatile than they appear at first glance. They can involve single, double, triple, or even quadruple light fixtures. Singles can be mounted individually or in pre-arranged or pre-manufactured arrays of as many as five. They can be suspended to varying heights and look right in any room or office even if they are not proper chandeliers.
They also come in varying shapes, styles, and sizes. Some such lights suspend from single tubes, with small to moderately sized light shades shaped as anything from flowers to upside-down drink flutes. Others involve shapely shields or circular or square-box shields surrounding two, three, or even four lights in pendant style, though far enough short of a chandelier. Some of the smaller lights come in single- or in two, three, or even four-in-one formations. Some of their shades or shields can be simple frosted glass, carved pattern glass, marble, and even Tiffany style.
The options are almost limitless. Some popular arrays include single pendants with small shades lined up and sized appropriately to align to archways above kitchen sinks or doorways; a row of four or five pendants, likewise with small shades, above a reception counter or home bar; a larger pendant shade shielding three or four lights and suspended on a very short tubing or chain from the ceiling in a bedroom or in a dining room. In addition, there are those featuring a longer shade for suspension over an entrance foyer.
The best news is that these lights do not have to be terribly expensive. Numerous outlet stores, including those of Lamps Plus, will sell pendant lights at prices well below normal retail prices. Some offerings at this writing include a Tiffany-style two-light pendant chandelier for approximately $299; a wide art-glass mini pendant in squared shade with four amber scroll-shaped supports for $129.99; or, simple, single-light bell, floral, vessel, and other shaped pendants in varying colors and patterns for prices under $100.
If you have a flair for trimming and accessorizing your home lighting, these lights can help you let your creativity shine.
